Designed specifically for professional learning providers, this guide has everything needed to introduce educators to this instructional approach and equip them to successfully teach a unit. It includes guidance on the Storyline Instructional Model, the four lesson types, and other key practices.
Culminating Engagement Handbook
Every unit concludes with a Culminating Engagement where students design and participate in solutions to the environmental challenge they’ve investigated. This handbook includes planning guidance and ideas for scaling up or down based on available class time.
Building Classroom Culture and Agreements
For students to figure out ideas together, teachers must establish a classroom culture that ensures all students can participate. This resource offers ways to create a space where students feel they belong and can safely share ideas, disagree, and problem-solve together.
Questioning Strategies
This resource offers several questioning strategies teachers can use to promote student dialogue. These questioning strategies are intended to surface student understanding, provoke thought, encourage investigation, and foster an environment where students feel comfortable sharing ideas.
